About Our Speakers:

Todd A. Templeman, M.D. is an attending emergency physician and the EMS Medical Director at Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he has been delivering patient-centered care since 2012. Board certified in both Emergency and Internal Medicine, he is a 2002 graduate of Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. Dr. Templeman began his career at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he was recognized as Georgetown’s New Faculty of the Year in 2008. He was named Suburban’s Emergency Department Physician of the Year in 2014. Deeply rooted in the community, Dr. Templeman lives with his wife, Dr. Sharmeela Kuperan, an academic sleep physician at Walter Reed, and their two daughters in the neighborhood just behind the hospital.

Erika Cupeta, RN/ACM is the Manager of Population Health at Suburban Hospital and has worked in nursing and patient care for 23 years. She earned her RN from Montgomery College and is currently pursuing an MSN at the University of Phoenix. Erika began her healthcare career as a nurse with Adventist Healthcare, where she dedicated 18 years to growing across a variety of clinical roles, including medical-surgical nursing, float pool, and labor and delivery, and established the first emergency department case management program at Shady Grove Medical Center. Erika joined Suburban Hospital in 2021, where she built the emergency department case management program at the Hospital, with a focus on supporting vulnerable populations and high-utilizing patients. Since November 2025, Erika has overseen population health initiatives, supported transition guide nurses, and collaborated with leadership to develop strategies that improve outcomes across our community.

Isha Misra, M.D. is a hospitalist physician at Suburban Hospital, where she has worked since 2017. Dr. Misra grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and after completing her medical training in the DMV and Tristate areas, returned home to live and work in the community that she loves. Montgomery County is one of the most diverse counties in the area and during her medical career thus far, she has had the privilege to care for patients from a variety of different backgrounds with a wide range of medical conditions.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Misra is the physician lead for Suburban's population health team. In this role, she works to address health related social needs and improve health outcomes for Suburban Hospital’s patients. She is passionate about addressing health disparities, reducing the burden of hospitalization for patients, and improving the transition of care from hospital to home. Dr. Misra is also passionate about teaching the next generation of healthcare providers and teaches both medical students and nurse practitioner students. In her free time, she likes to read, dance, and travel. Dr. Misra and her husband recently welcomed a baby boy and are embracing the joys of new parenthood!
